Service Status
RoadMode is currently an early website for learner-driver route planning. The route tools should be checked by the supervising adult before any drive.
Not Driving Instruction
RoadMode is not a driving instructor, driving school, or replacement for professional tuition. It is intended to support safe parent-supervised driving sessions alongside lessons from a qualified driving instructor.
Supervising Driver Responsibility
The supervising adult is responsible for deciding whether a route, road, weather condition, traffic level, and driving skill is suitable for the learner. Do not ask a learner to attempt a skill they are not ready for.
Legal Compliance
Users must comply with all applicable learner-driver, insurance, vehicle, eyesight, supervision, L plate, mobile phone, and road traffic laws. Learners must not use RoadMode while driving.
Restricted Roads
RoadMode should not be used to bypass local learner-driver rules for motorways, freeways or other restricted road types. In Great Britain, learner motorway driving has specific rules and should only happen in lawful conditions with an approved driving instructor in a suitable dual-control car.
No Guarantee
RoadMode cannot guarantee that any route will be safe, legal, available, quiet, or suitable at the time it is driven. Road conditions change constantly.
Map Tool
The live map is a route-planning tool. Routes, turn counts, timings, GPS position, and map data should be checked by the supervising adult before and during any learner drive.
GPS can lag, lose signal, or place the car on the wrong nearby road. The supervising adult must use road signs, road markings, traffic conditions, and judgement ahead of any RoadMode prompt.
